I am very sad to share the news that Laura O’Brien has passed away. She was one of the original founders and officers of Riverwatch and one of its most energetic supporters in the early years.  She was an inspired teacher who cared deeply about her students and the environment.  It was her 7^th and 8^th grade classes that participated in our oxbow research  project.   I never saw her without a smile.  She always greeted everyone with optimism and kind words.   I find I have so few photos of a woman whose spirit I am so honored to have known and shared some wonderful memories.
