Senate Committee Tackles Global Water Challenges

A Senate Energy subcommittee holds a hearing examining global and domestic water issues, including access to clean water and water shortages.

In two separate panels, testimony before the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water includes officials from the Departments of State and Interior and private think tanks and foundations. In the first panel, witnesses include Anne Castle, Assistant Secretary for Water and Science, Department of the Interior, Jerry Hansen, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Installations, Energy, and Environment, U.S. Army, and Aaron Salzberg, Special Coordinator for Water Resources , U.S. Department of State.

Representatives from the Pacific Institute, Western States Water Council, GE Water and Process Technologies and the South Florida Water Management District also testify.
