As news of yesterday’s U.S. Presidential election reverberates around the world, we want to assure you that it will not deter the Waterkeeper movement’s global work fighting for social justice, strong communities, and healthy waterways. On the contrary, Waterkeeper Alliance will be more ambitious than ever in its efforts to continue to strengthen and grow a global network of grassroots leaders protecting everyone’s right to clean water. We will continue to hold polluters accountable. We will continue to fight forswimmable, drinkable and fishable water everywhere.

Waterkeeper Alliance is the largest and fastest growing non-profit focused solely on clean water. We preserve and protect water by connecting local Waterkeeper organizations worldwide.  We are a grassroots, voice-of-the-people organization. We are on the ground and represent the people and their waterways. It is time for our people’s movement to increase their voice and speak out. It is time for new leaders to step forward.

We must remember that:

We now have a historic wakeup call that presents us with the opportunity to dramatically amplify environmentalism as the voice of the people, a voice more determined and impassioned than that  of corporate power. Together, we will persevere. Together, we are stronger than ever.

To clean water,

Marc Yaggi
