Dear Save Our Creeks Member,
It’s time for our annual meeting on July 25, 2009 at the Fisheating Creek
Campground screen room. We will begin at noon with a potluck meal (SOC
will provide paper goods and drinks) immediately after the Settlement
Agreement Advisory Board (SAAB) meeting (note: this committee oversees
the
management of Fisheating Creek and Save Our Creeks has two representatives,
as
does ECOSWF, so it is important for our voice to be heard--and all interested
are invited to attend the SAAB meeting) . During lunch, we will have a
guest speaker, Charles Sobczak, who is author of Alligators, Sharks
&
Panthers: Deadly Encounters with Florida’s Top Predator — Man, described
as
follows: “Released in November of 2006, this nonfiction title
explores the
complex and often strained relationship between mankind and his fellow
predators. Covering 26 fatal human/’gator & shark attacks that have
occurred in the
Sunshine State over the past 60 years, the book can serve as a "what
not to
do" when encountering these animals in the wild. But the read goes
far
beyond these incidents and delves into over-development, hurricanes and
environmental issues facing the future of Florida. Dozens of charts and
illustrations.” After this, we will move into our agenda
(attached). Please come
and support the protection of Fisheating Creek and other threatened
waterways.
Yours truly,
Ellen
P.S. Please renew your 2009 membership if you have not yet done so. A
membership form is attached. Thank you!
