To All,
Once again our Lee County Commissioners are the ones that are pushing to take over our power boating waters based upon public interests of kayakers hiding behind the guise of mitigation for dredging.
Lee County staff has worked with the folks at the aquatic preserves and Ding Darling to come up with the latest fiasco called Wulfert Flats' "no motor zones" and the taking of the states sovereign submerged lands for kayaks.
I have come across the meetings and notes of various folks associated with the idea of taking various parts of Lee County waters and making them no motor zones.
While all along the obvious folks that took the heat for all the new mitigation of submerged lands was thought to be the Florida Department of Environment, it turns out that the real culprits was our own county commissioners.
I also have a copy of the ok to dredge to Blind Pass and it never once deals with requiring any mitigation for Blind Pass by making Wulfert Flats a no motor zone or having to give it to Ding Darling.
That my friends was your own county commissioners idea.
Again we really need to look at what our County Commissioners are doing....
Sincerely
Leo Amos
