Public Workshop on January 7, 2010 regarding revisions to the surface
water classification system
The Department has received many useful comments and suggestions regarding
revisions to the surface water classification system. We appreciate all
of the comments and suggestions. Based on review of the comments received
and further analysis, the draft rule language has been revised
(attached). The rule revisions are significant enough to warrant another
public workshop, which has been scheduled as follows:
DATE AND TIME: Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 9:00 a.m.
PLACE: Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, 4000 Gateway Centre Boulevard,
Suite 100, Pinellas Park, Florida
Please note that we are revising the document titled “Technical Support
Document: Requirements for Reclassifying the Designated Uses of Florida Surface
Waters and Conducting Use Attainability Analyses”, since the proposed rule
revisions affect that document. The revised draft document will be posted
before the Christmas holiday to our website at: http://www.dep.state.fl.us/secretary/designateduse.htm .
We will also post an agenda for the public workshop.
We look forward to your participation at this public workshop. If you
have any questions, please let me know.
