Caloosahatchee Basin Storage and Treatment Projects
Larry Hilton informed the Board of a South Florida Water
Management Initiative that will utilize up to $19 million to provide better
quality and quantity of surface water in Caloosahatchee River and will involve
partial rehydration of Lake Hicpochee, development of
a portion of the C43 Reservoir in Hendry County and assist the Mirror Lakes
system project in Lee County. The Lake Hicpochee
project will not include pump stations but will be operated by gravity and the
water storage area will be shallow with berms allowing less than four feet of
water.
